Prank Machine a now defunct prank-call-comedy-troupe that used the Internet as its platform. This website is Prank Machine’s prank call archive.
Meatus Productions is an audio-based entertainment company that produces promotional media for both commercial and personal. Projects range from radio spots to comedy albums.
A BRIEF HISTORY:
Prank Machine was a collaborative effort between several employees at 1130AM W.S.O.B in Shapap Meadows, Illinois. Started originally as a joke the project became an avenue for online entertainment.
Over the course of a few years the cast of callers generated a few hundred prank calls. The site received mild success with the call, “Alien Pimps 2” by Voice Box Pete. This caught the attention of several social-news-sites, online and college radio stations. As the website grew in popularity an online petition appeared, it’s mission was to get Prank Machine shut down.
Amused by the online petition Prank Machine continued producing material. Redevelopment on the site was underway when Prank Machine producers received a series of cease-and-desist letters. Production was ordered to stop and the site taken down for an indefinite period of time.
The C&D letters were challenged and ruled as unconstitutional on counts of libel and falsified processing. The months of inactivity disheartened most of the callers. The site returned, with cursory interest under the direction of only two original members hosting a diet version of the original site.
Now in its current form, the site functions as an archive to Prank Machine’s prank calls.
Prank Machine was a fight against boredom and offered something funny and free.

As you might have already guessed, we are several fine upstanding citizens that have nothing better to do with out endless amounts of time. Instead of turning our boredom into creativity (or retail theft) we have resorted to “Doughnut Shop Terrorism*”.

We here at Prank Machine, Shapap Studios, and Meatus Productions are telling anyone that is forced to live in their own suburban hell to stand up, pick up the phone, and entertain yourself! Absurdity is the best policy!
